I am a seasoned agent of 30 years. I've done some unusual lines of insurance such as: D & O, E & O, Kidnap Ransom, Reinsurance, Self-Funded etc..... but also have experience in health and life. I have been with Banker's for 4 weeks now. Wow they are demanding in their time commitment. If you can't stay late or work on a Saturday, they really frown upon you. Not sure I understand what you meant by "one appointment" when referring to their philosophy. Can you explain? Their leads to do not seem to be of high quality. I call mostly non-responders and all of the Hot leads I get are a couple months old. What do I need to know about Banker's that may be of some help to me? I haven't worked full-time in about 7 years due to Fibromyalgia so I'm giving it the old college try. Thanks, Mb

What you've described sounds like a pretty typical Banker's Life shop. In the spirit of professionalism, I'll leave it at that.

It sounds as though all you're really getting out of your current arrangement is stress. If it's not a good fit for you, you should be looking elsewhere. The great thing about an insurance sales career is that all you need is your knowledge and a smile, and you're fully armed. If you really want it, and if you're a good sales person, you can make it work.

Find a good brokerage general agency in your area, and they'll provide you with access to all the life & health products you need (not just one carrier's), product training, and they'll help you interact with the carriers. You can get good errors & ommissions coverage for a few hundred dollars a year from several sources - another thing a good general agent can help you with.

Good luck!
