Well, there is life after AFLAC.
If you'd like to go the independent route, you'll have to be affiliated with a good General Agency, preferably one who specializes in LTCi. That agency will also represent the top life, DI, Medicare Sup and Annuity carriers as well. You'll be able to represent a number of different carriers.
There are a lot of new LTC products on the market(hybrid & combination products) that you'll need to get up to speed on. You'll also need to get Partnership certified.

www.AALTCI.orgWith the exception of Medicare Sups, The "Senior Market" has really become a misnomer. Your target market will no longer concentrate on those 65 & up. It will now be 50 and up.
