Hello. I am a 60 year-old man and would like to purchase LTC insurance within the next few months for my wife and myself.

My questions are:

1. Can anyone recommend an independent LTC specialist on Long Island?

2. If not, how can I find a good agent? Frankly, none of my friends has a policy, so I can't obtain a recommendation that way. I have printed out lists obtained from web sites mentioned in earlier posts on this board, but these lists provide too many names to be all that useful. I don't want to just throw a dart at the lists. Also, a CLTC designation does not necessarily mean that I will feel comfortable with the agent.

3. What are the pros and cons of the NY State Partnership policies, as compared to a private policy. Any recommendations from New Yorkers as to which way to go?
