I need help and so does my hsuband ASAP. My husband just completed week one of training in Bankers L and C at the Tyler Tx Branch. last night he comes in and tells me he is having ethical issues with the company. All they seem to stress is the massive earning potential and not the real humanitarian effort of helping Seniors know what they have, what they need to get, and how it works. The line they fed him to get him was that if he makes a sale fantastic but not needed (This came from the Branch manager). Then when he got with his field trainer, he emphasized make the cold calls, get in the door, and no matter what make a sale. My husband is completely confused and needs guidance. Right now he is looking at the company as not ethical and not holding to the standards they put forth in his two interviews. He is thinking about quiting after one week. Is there any advice that you could personally give him?
I don't want him to regret his decision without having some of the information. He would go to someone locally but this branch is rebuilding and does not have many people he could go to. He would also go to his field trainer but he's miltaristic in his approach to all people and Matt feels he would get the go to hell and work for me slave line. Thank you so very much.

Lauen,
Every Bankers office is independent. Some are good, others are not.
Rather than be captive to one carrier, your husband might want to consider being an independent agent, representing a number of carriers.
Let him contact a local LTC General Agency and speak with them.
I am sure there will be posts from Bankers agents saying how wonderful life is with Bankers. Many Bankers agents do very well and will defend the carrier.
The reasons your husband got into selling LTCI are important and he needs to feel comfortable with the office or agency he finally decides to hook up with. He may decide to give up on Bankers, but encourage him to stick with his career decision.
Arthur

Your husband should do what he feels is best for him. It's unlikely he's going to change the environment, so he either needs to adapt to it or move on. As Arthur points out, there are other options. He can do this on his own terms by finding a good LTC general agent or a mentor who's experienced in the field, and draw on their experience. Good luck!
